There are no meetings at City Hall this week. Meetings will resume next week, with the Regina Planning Commission convening on August 13th.

On Thursday, Wascana Pool will have extended hours until 10:00 pm for a summer fiesta. There will be free snacks, activities, and a piñata. Regular admission fees are still in effect.
- Happy Saskatchewan Day! Several City services and facilities are operating on modified schedules today. Civic Offices will be closed, but waste collection will continue as scheduled, and Regina Transit will run on Sunday routes. The Information Centre and RIDELine will be closed, but Paratransit Service will operate from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. Parking meters will not be in effect. Hope you’re having a wonderful long weekend!
Last Week In Regina:
- Saskatchewan’s first "complex care facility" opened in Regina. This 15-bed center is designed to offer medically supported detention for individuals with complex needs who are intoxicated and deemed a danger to themselves or others. Operated by Edgewood Health Network (EHN) Canada, the facility will have 24/7 medical and security staff. Police will use these centers as an alternative to traditional detention, aiming to provide better support and create discharge plans for access to addiction treatment and mental health services. The $9.6 million pilot project is part of the Provincial Approach To Homelessness (PATH) initiative.

A local business made a mark at the Paris Olympics. Regina’s Pin People provided Olympic-themed pins for Team Canada, a tradition they've carried on since the 1988 Calgary Games. The company’s design process takes about six to eight weeks, involving collaboration with the Canadian Olympic Committee.
- There has been some movement in the Regina arts and culture scene! After 35 years at the MacKenzie Art Gallery, head curator Timothy Long is retiring to focus on writing a book about art philosophy. The Regina Symphony Orchestra has appointed Samuel Deason, a Saskatoon native and award-winning pianist, as its new executive director. Meanwhile, the Regina Folk Festival is on the lookout for a new executive director.
