Welcome to Day 9 of our Regina 2024 Campaign Roundup!
With the 2024 municipal election underway, we'll be bringing you daily updates on all the policy proclamations, platform promises, and political point-scoring from the campaign trail.

Campaign Roundup - Day 9:
- The Regina Leader-Post’s City Hall reporter asked all of the Council candidates about the most pressing issues in their wards. Today, they published the responses, and you can view them here.
- Mayoral candidates were questioned by Global News on their plans for infrastructure. They have put together a video on their answers that you can watch here.
- CBC Saskatchewan's The Morning Edition hosted interviews with nine of the 11 mayoral candidates. You can view those videos here. Melina Bushenlonga declined to be on camera, but her audio interview is available online.
- CTV profiled Ward 6 candidates. There are six candidates running for the seat. Corey Liebrecht is advocating for fiscal transparency, repairing aging infrastructure, and addressing the root causes of criminal activity. David Whitrow is emphasizing low taxes, effective services, and responsible growth. Fawaz Adegoke is dedicated to tackling the addictions crisis, improving road infrastructure, and promoting social justice and equity. Glenn Douglas is prioritizing fiscal accountability, transparency, and lowering property taxes once municipal debt is paid off. Julian Levy is focusing on fiscal responsibility, ensuring transparency, and making smart financial decisions, and Victoria Flores is aiming to enhance safety, infrastructure, and support for local organizations while fostering an inclusive community.
- They also profiled Ward 5, where six candidates are running. Dharmesh Dave is emphasizing inclusivity, cultural understanding, and community empowerment. Grant Jakubowski is prioritizing public safety, tax control, and infrastructure investments. Leticia Oystrick is committed to responsible use of tax dollars and plans to hold monthly community meetings. Marianne Mucz is advocating for financial responsibility and basic services like garbage collection and police. Sarah Turnbull is pushing for increased community accessibility and inclusion, and Shifaan Shafi is focusing on transparent budgeting and efficient road renovations.
