Campaign Roundup - Day 8:

  • Former Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco has endorsed mayoral candidate Lori Bresciani, suggesting she has the potential to restore community pride and unity within City Council. Bresciani, the former Ward 4 Councillor, is running against incumbent Sandra Masters and pledges to address Regina’s current challenges with a forward-looking vision.

  • Advance voting wrapped up yesterday, and 15,190 residents cast their ballots. The number of people who voted at advance polling stations increased from 14,374 in 2020.

  • CTV interviewed mayoral candidates Chad Bachynski and Lori Bresciani. Bachynski says he wants to improve efficiency, particularly when it comes to repairing infrastructure. He wants Council to have more focused decision-making. Bresciani says she will lead with compassion, get a handle on spending, and refocus Council on the basics.

  • CTV also profiled Ward 4 candidates. Seven people are running for the seat. Balvir Bhathal is focusing on transparency, accountability, and community investment. Charles Umeh is prioritizing efficient core services, a tax freeze, and safety. Danish Hasan is aiming to reduce tax hikes and improve resource management. Deb Nyczai is advocating for enhanced public services, fiscal responsibility, and inclusive decision-making. Glen Geiger is seeking to enhance public safety, infrastructure, and financial stewardship. Kofo Oni is emphasizing community safety, affordable housing, and long-term city interests, and Mark Burton’s focus is on efficient spending, traffic solutions, and supporting volunteerism and local business.

  • Your next opportunity to vote will be on Election Day - Wednesday, November 13th. Regular Polls will be open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. To find your designated polling station, as well as Ward-specific information, you can use Elections Regina’s My Voter Info tool.
