Election 2024: Campaign Roundup - Day 13

Welcome to Day 13 of our Regina 2024 Campaign Roundup!

With the 2024 municipal election underway, we'll be bringing you daily updates on all the policy proclamations, platform promises, and political point-scoring from the campaign trail.

As always, our work is entirely funded by donations from residents just like you, so if you appreciate the updates, please consider making a one-off donation or signing up as a supporter for just $10 a month - that's just 36 cents per email!

Campaign Roundup - Day 13:

  • Mayoral candidates visited the University of Regina to connect with students, aiming to boost youth engagement by emphasizing the impact of their vote.

  • CTV News Regina will provide live coverage of the municipal election on Wednesday starting at 9:30 pm, streaming on their website. A live blog will also share updates and results after polls close at 8:00 pm.

  • Elections Regina reminded people to bring their ID with them to vote. A full list of acceptable ID is available online.

  • Lori Bresciani compared her record to fellow mayoral candidate Sandra Masters. Bresciani said that she believes tax dollars should fund essential services like roads, transit, and safe neighbourhoods, rather than costly, short-term projects.

  • CKOM sent out a Q&A to each mayoral candidate, and have published Kevin Kardash’s answers. Kardash says his top issues to address in her first 100 days in office would be addressing the homeless shelter, working on a possible solution for the Lawson Aquatic Centre to become more affordable for all, and allowing smoking at the stadium.
